No Job Too Small
Hello my name is Cody Holden, I am 25 years old. I was born and raised in Calgary Alberta, so I call this place my home. When I was 14 years old I obtained my first job with a roofing company and worked in the summer months. When I was in my final year of high school I decided I didn’t want to work as a roofer for the rest of my life but I had a passion working with my hands and building things. My high school offered a mentorship program, which was created to assist us in exploring different occupations of interest to us. I had no idea what exactly I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I had recently completed some minor electrical repairs on a family friend’s cabin in BC and figured electrical work was of interest to me. Plus it was much easier on the body than roofing. I decided I wanted to complete a mentorship program with an electrical company and experience what it might be like as an electrician. I loved it and made a deal with the owner of the company to give me a job once I completed high school. After graduating high school I gave him a call, was then working with the company in a matter of weeks and enrolled in the electrical apprenticeship program soon after.
I worked with that residential electrical company for two years and decided to join an industrial electrical company. I worked in Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray. For the next two years I worked on everything from schools to airports to Heavy Oil refining facilities. I felt as though I hadn’t found my niche so I decided to experience some commercial work to become more diversified in the electrical field. I worked for a year and half with a big company on a cardiatric care unit at the Peter Lougheed hospital in Calgary Alberta.
I continued my apprentiship program at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and earned my Journeymen Electrician Certificate and also obtained the Red Seal Certificate as well. With the unfortunate circumstances of the recession in 2016 that hit Alberta hard I found it a difficult year to find work. However in January 2017, I decided I was tired of looking for employment and would establish my own electrical company. Thus Circuit Soleil Electric Ltd. Was created. I am excited about and enjoy the challenges associated with assisting customers with their electrical needs and developing a successful Electrical Company.
